Environment Log

May 2008

We have successfully transitioned from plastic to glass receptacles!
There will be no increase in prices (or shipping charges) as a result.

March 2008

We will begin to phase out the use of all plastic bottles used for packaging phytoplankton cultures. By May of 2008, Empco will have completed the transition to using glass-only receptacles.

Plastics never biodegrade, but instead gradually break down into infinitely minute plastic particles, forming a petroleum-based dust. The amount of plastic on Earth today will never decrease, and much is deposited into the oceans, where it can violently disrupt ecosystems.

Empco is proud to announce a discontinuation of plastic bottling products.
